Lauren Couch - Studio Manager
Lauren commenced teaching at the Sharee Skye Dance Centre in 2018. She holds her Full Teachers Diploma in C.S.T.D. Modern Jazz and C.S.T.D. Theatrical & Performing Arts and her Teachers Cetificate in C.S.T.D Tapping syllabus.
Lauren is an extremely passionate and versatile teacher, following in her Aunties footsteps, who she trained with from a very young age. Lauren will commence her preparations to sit her C.S.T.D. Teachers Certificate in Classical Ballet this year as well as completing her Diploma in the Tapping Syllabus.
Lauren hopes to one day continue following in her Aunties footsteps and become a C.S.T.D. examiner.
Joelle Babuin-Henry moved to Brisbane from Vancouver, Canada in 2008. She has been dancing since the age of three and teaching Royal Academy of Dance ballet for 30 years in Canada, Australia and Singapore.
Joelle has been teaching ballet at Sharee Skye Dance Centre for ten years. During this time the ballet program has produced wonderful ballet students and improved the students’ performance in jazz and contemporary.
Joelle also has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. This degree fuelled her desire to continue studying movement further and she now teaches Polestar mat Pilates and GYROTONIC®.
She is keen to pass on her love of dance and movement to others and is really looking forward to another great year at SSDC.
RAD Teachers Certificate in Classical Ballet
Kelsey has been dancing at Sharee Skye Dance Centre since 2008, and now is moving into a dominant teaching position.
Kelsey’s most recent examinations include Modern Jazz 8, Advanced Gold Star, andContemporary 4. Kelsey has been teaching since 2009 and loves working with the SSDC students, with her most recent students receiving impressive results in their dance examinations. Kelsey holds both her C.S.T.D. Teachers Certificates in Modern Jazz & Tapping and is presently working towards her full diploma in both genres.
Kelsey has a passion for all aspects of dance and is looking forward to her future years ahead with the dance studio and developing the younger generation.
Lily has been dancing from the young age of three years and dances all genre’s available at Sharee Skye Dance Centre. Lily has been enthusiastically teaching and assist-teaching students of various ages since 2009 mainly working with our Preschool Ballet and Junior Hip-Hop classes.
She loves teaching all ages and ensures all new students feel comfortable and welcomed in their classes by bringing a warm yet energetic feel to each class. Lily is very passionate about dance and aspires to one day pursue a career in the dance industry.
Lily holds her C.S.T,D. Modern Jazz Teachers Certificate and will commence working towards her full diploma this year.
C.S.T.D. Tapping Teachers Diploma
Emma commenced dancing at the age of 3 and has danced at the Sharee Skye Dance Centre in 2008.
Emma has completed all her examinations in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary & Theatrical Performing Arts receiving Honours Plus (95% or more) in all of her final examinations. Emma will continue to work towards some of the highest examinations available as well as work towards her Teachers Certificate in both Modern Jazz and Tapping.
Emma is thrilled to now shift her role in the studio from dancer to teacher and inspire the new generations in something she is very passionate about.

She was enrolled in a dance classes at the age of three to support her extreme shyness. Look at her now!!!
She did her first tap class in jazz shoes, came out and exclaimed, "Mummy buy the shoes. I was born to TAP!"
She has tried and loved all forms of dance including jazz, hip-hop, tap, ballet, acrobatics and contemporary. She has achieved Trinity College of London successes in musical theatre and speech and drama exams since the age of seven. She is currently working towards her Teaching and Performance Diploma’s in Musical Theatre! She has performed on stage in competitions and shows since the age of five and is excited to be sharing her love and extensive knowledge of absolutely everything musical theatre!
Jasmine began dancing at the age of 3 and studied Tap, Jazz and Ballet. As the years went on, Jasmine expanded her repertoire to include Hip Hop / Street Dance. All these different styles fused together have created Jasmine’s own Street Style, which she is now renowned for.
Jasmine has been performing, choreographing and teaching workshops throughout Australia since 1998.
Industry credits include performing and choreographing for Mexican superstar Belinda, performing co-choreographing Mega Jam Instructional DVD’s, RAQ Fashion Awards, Dancer and Choreographer for QLD Reds and Brisbane Broncos Dance Teams, and seven years as a dancer and character performer at Warner Bros Movie World.
As a freelance performer, she has appeared in countless video clips, television appearances, fashion shows and night club performances, locally and internationally. If you want to see Jaz in action, her Mega Jam YouTube Channel is currently one of the biggest Hip Hop Choreography Dance Channels in the World!
Jasmine brings a wealth of knowledge, experience & passion, and is thrilled to be our resident Hip Hop teacher at SSDC.
‘Nanna’, as our little ones refer to her has over 12 years experience in teaching tiny tots & pre school dance and is also a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Nanna has just completed her Elementary Gold examinations and holds a strong passion for dance. Nanna is strong believer that no matter what age, dance is a language that can be taught and Nanna, herself is no exception to this rule!
Dance has been a part of Sophie’s life since she was 4 years old starting with jazz and tap and quickly followed by ballet. She has completed all her tap and jazz exams and is working through her final few ballet exams. Group performances include eisteddfods, D3, Disneyland USA, Disneyland Hong Kong and Universal Studios USA. She is still part of the SSDC performance team. Solo performances include tap, jazz and lyrical. Sophie has been teaching for 3 years and holds her CSTD Modern Jazz Certificate. She loves teaching children and works hard towards helping each child achieve their potential. Her happy nature is infectious and she is enthusiast about her work. Sophie is currently completing her Bachelor of Health Studies at the University of Queensland.
Danielle commenced dancing at the age of 3 and commenced teaching with the Sharee Skye Dance Centre in 2008. Danielle is presently studying a Bachelor of Psychology and works with at-risk youths while not teaching dance. She holds her C.S.T.D. Full Teachers Diploma in the tapping syllabus as well as her Modern Jazz 8 (Honours) and Intermediate R.A.D. Ballet.
Amber commenced dancing at the age of 10 and quickly fell in love with all styles.
Amber recently completed the Acrobatics Arts level 2 credential and found her passion in teaching acrobatics, following in her mothers footsteps.
Amber also holds her C.S.T.D. Jazz Teachers Certificate and is presently working towards her C.S.T.D. Theatrical and Performing Arts Teachers Certificate.
Amber has an enthusiastic approach to all her classes and loves exploring creative ways to include acrobatics in her choreography. Amber also has her own dance travel company, escorting students worldwide to perform in places such as Disneyland, Universal Studios and Cruise ships.
Following in her mothers footsteps, Leilani commenced dancing at the age of 3 and quickly found her own love for the art. Leilani is presently in her final year of education and has completed all her Modern Jazz examinations in preparation for her Modern Jazz Teachers Certificate. Leilani also holds her R.A.D. Advanced Foundation. After asssitant teaching for 4 years, Leilani is excited to be the newest member of the SSDC teaching team.
Sam has been dancing since the age of 5, studying Ballet, Jazz, Flamenco, Cabaret, Singing, Musical Theatre, and his passion – Tap Dance. At the age of 14 Sam became the Junior ATOD Australasian Tap Champion, which he later reclaimed at the age 17 winning the Senior ATOD Australasian Tap Champion. Sam joined Raw Dance Company in 2011 and has since toured with RAW’s Untapped, Bang! Crash! Tap! and Raw Metal throughout Western Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, New Zealand and the United States, including a season in New York City.
Owain Kennair is a Brisbane based Dancer/ singer/ actor who discovered dance from a young age. Owain has studied a huge collection of styles including: Musical theatre, Commercial Jazz, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Tap, Salsa, House, Singing, Drama and many more.
After high school, Owain completed a Diploma in Musical Theatre with Raw Dance Company - opening his mind and body up to the world of dance. Owain has performed and taught with RAW on many occasions including at the Brisbane Convention Centre and the Gabba as half time entertainment for the Brisbane Lions.
Owain is one of the newest members of RAW METAL and is wishing to take on the world one hit spring at a time. So far, he has toured in Canada in 2016 and 2017 with RAW METAL, he performed in the Untapped tour all throughout Queensland in 2017 and he has performed at corporate gigs in nearly every capital city of Australia. He is really excited to share his passion for dance with with you and your students!
